If you stand still, the Internet will blow right past you. It is constantly changing and evolving. The Network Marketers who realize this and stay with the trends will succeed. One such trend that is changing is how people now connect and find information via The Internet.

Every time you turn around, a new social networking site seems to be gaining popularity. The search engines are no longer the first option for many people searching for information on the web. They are turning to social networking sites to find and share information as well as to connect with like minded people. Adults and business people seem to be leading the way. This can be good news for the savvy Network Marketer since their income levels tend to be above average.

People from all walks of life are successfully using these networks. Lawyers, doctors, network marketers, musicians, small business owners, they are all taking advantage of them. You now connect with people who need and are looking for what you have to offer. Post a profile with audio, pictures and/or video and you can attract highly qualified prospects to investigate what you are offering. A certain number of these highly qualified prospects will then contact you via email or phone.

Old school recruiting is a thing of the past.

The process of chasing friends, family and co-workers and invoking the “three foot rule” are all now things of the past. Dealing with rude and obnoxious strangers who hang up on you will also be a distant memory. The process of trying to grow your business will no longer seem like such an arduous task because your interactions with people will be much more productive and enjoyable. Rejection is still part of the picture (it will just be less harsh and hopefully less frequent) because lets face it, not everybody is going to purchase what you have to offer. Your downline will start to grow because you will be viewed as a leader and someone they can trust.

The old methods of building a network marketing business worked at one point in time. The problem is, these old methods are not very effective and they scare people. Nobody wants to chase down strangers, hand out fliers or coordinate opportunity meetings. Taking advantage of attraction marketing methods with social networking sites on the internet allows people to stay in their comfort zone. The fear of stepping outside that comfort zone is what keeps a lot of newcomers from succeeding.

If you really want to create residual income you need to have a product that many consumers are willing to buy and have methods in place to continually find new customers. These methods should be easy to follow and duplicate as well as honest and trustworthy. When your downline trusts you and believes in you because they see the methods working and they feel comfortable with the methods, your residual income will continue to grow.

It’s time to change your networking activities!

Web 2.0 and Social Marketing offers great benefits to those who take advantage of them. In the world of Network Marketing, being chased is much more fun (and more profitable) than being the one doing the chasing. The next two years should prove to be very lucrative for those implementing these techniques.

If you are an online business owner, then there are some simple, but advanced seo services, you can be using. Let’s take a look at 2 of these below.

Are you using a blog in your search engine optimization?

There are 2 types of blogs: free blogs hosted somewhere else, or blogs you host on your very own domain. The free ones would be like wordpress.com or blogger.com. I personally recommend using wordpress and installing it on your own host.

Blogs are very good for link building. The more posts you have, with links pointing to your products, services, or affiliate programs, will help you in rankings and earnings.

Social marketing is an area you need to get familiar with.

There are new social networks starting up all over the place today. Seeing this trend, you should definitely realize you need to take advantage of this. If you are going to use social networks, then there are two things you need to know in order to make this work for you.

First, social networks can be used for networking. You can easily find a group that has similar interests as you and get familiar with them. Places like Facebook and Twitter are good for this.

Getting a bunch of one way links pointing back to your site is another way you can use social networks and social bookmarking. Digg is probably the best tool for this.

Just by adding some of these advanced seo services, outside of the basic seo, can be just what your website needs.

A great website is only as profitable as the traffic it gets, that is why it is so important to get improved search engine rankings. The quality of your product, or service, will not matter if your website does not get a better search engine ranking. That is why some time and energy has to be focused on ways of getting improved search engine rankings.

What you need to work on to make your site rank high

Almost everyone I know uses the internet for information and research. Just think about the last time you needed to find something. It could have been a definition, directions, a recipe, or just about anything else you can think of. Where did you go? That’s right! The Internet. You normally end up looking at the first couple of sites and get what you need. This is where your site needs to be.

The good thing is there are definitely a couple of things you can do right now to help out. It really is not difficult and can start making a difference right away.

Search engine spiders are on the web looking for new stuff. If you can keep new content on your website or blog all the time, the search engine spiders will keep coming back to your site (along with the internet surfers).

One way Links. With so many blogs and forums out there, getting links back to your site is fairly simple. Find some relevant sites out there, read their articles and blog posts, and then comment on them. Give people a reason to link to you and to click on your links.

Keyword research is also very important. It does you no good to optimize for the wrong phrases. You need to find out what phrases your potential market is searching for and then optimize for this.

If you start with the above tips and learn more about getting improved search engine ranking, you will soon begin to see profits come in.

by Dan Scott

Everyone seems to have figured out that the web is a great place to do business. There’s hardly a business in America that doesn’t have some kind of web presence. Even the little girl selling lemon-aide on the corner talks of “increasing her presence” on the web.

But, is that it? Is the Internet just a business model? I guess you could point out that it is also a seemingly bottomless reference source. Everything anybody wanted to know about anything (but was afraid to ask) is on the Internet somewhere. If you have access to new or unique information on anything, please post it…the world is waiting.

So? Is that it? No room for the everyman to participate other than as a buyer of goods and services? Take heart, because there is change in the air. A new Internet paradigm is forming, something people are calling Web 2.0. There is a lot of discussion about new business models, new ways to advertise, new application platforms, etc., but the most important part is often overlooked. Web 2.0 almost unwittingly describes a new social phenomenon in which an older, wiser Internet community begins to change the nature of the web to conform to the needs of a distributed community.

We used to talk about how increasing use of technology would gradually alienate people from each other. We would spend more and more time online and less time actually interacting with other people. Instead, what we are seeing is increased use of technology increases the amount of interaction with other people. IM, VOIP, chat rooms, blogs, forums, and the list goes on. All new, interactive forms of communication made possible by the Internet that are creating communication pathways only dreamed of before. It’s common these days for teens and young adults to have conversations on a regular basis with people from all over the world.

Too many discussions about the future of the Internet focus on the technology and miss the subtler, but equally important point that the real revolution we are seeing is not in the software or hardware but in what many have called the “wetware”; the people. The web is becoming more about the people that use it and what they use it for than about the technology that drives it.

So, why should an average person with nothing to sell and no particular drum to beat be on the Internet? Because that’s where the rest of society will be. Personal websites will be more commonplace than telephones; they’re incredibly inexpensive and easy to build, and most people will have more than one. They will have family sites to share pictures and stories with family and friends, personal blogs to maintain a dialogue with friends and strangers alike on the events of their community and the events of the world. Garage sales, wedding announcements, graduations, births, parties, resumes, recipes, pictures, videos, etc. all on your website(s).

The world is flattening and the nuclear family quickly becoming a memory. As more countries come together in common cause and open their markets up to each other, families spread out around the globe and lose touch. The Internet is opening up avenues of instant communication that allow people everywhere to see, hear, and share with each other any time they want. The personal website is the front porch in a new online society where you welcome up friends and neighbors for a sit and a chat in the evenings. It’s the fence you lean on in the afternoon to talk gossip and share recipes. It’s the living room you hold your Cub Scout meetings in as well as where you post the latest pinewood derby results. It’s even a refrigerator door where you post A+ papers next to crayon masterpieces for all the family to see.

Build a site and join an online community of millions around the globe.

Social bookmarking is fast becoming the next best thing for webmasters and web users around the globe. So, what are social bookmarking sites and where did they originate from?

Social bookmarking is an online method of storing, organizing, sharing and searching bookmarks of selected web pages. A bookmarking site allows members to save links they have an interest in, as well as sharing them with others web users. These links are generally viewed;

* In chronological order * In order of popularity * By selecting a specific tag * Randomly

To look at the history of social bookmarking we have to go back to 1996 with the launch of the website itLists.com, this was the first site to utilise the concept of shared bookmarks. A few years later this idea was followed by companies such as Backflip, Blink, Clip2, Hotlinks and Quiver. These companies however failed to make an impact on the market due to the dot com crash of 2001. We then had to wait until 2003 when del.icio.us launched its own tag related social bookmarking site. In a short space of time del.icio.us expanded very quickly, this led to other companies following their lead. In the next few years websites such as Simpy, Furl, Stumbleupon, Netvouz, Diigo, Digg, reddit, Newsvine joined the fray and expanded on the priciples of social bookmarking.

Social bookmark sites encourage their members to organize their own bookmarks using specific tags. Some sites vary slightly by implementing a combination of folders and tags. The methods used to organize bookmarks vary slightly but the general principles remain the same.

Many social bookmarking websites provide an RSS feed. This enables members to receive information on new bookmarks as they are saved, shared, and tagged by others. Another common feature is to allow members to rate and comment on bookmarks, this has become very popular with web users worldwide. Receiving information via a live feed is a very good method of carrying out research or simply reading the research of others.

Rather than slowing down, social bookmarking is growing at a phenomenal pace, this is due to web users realising they can gather information on specific or niche topics from a single source. As we move towards full web 2.0 compliance, it is of no surprise that social bookmarking sites are giving us a glimpse of how the World Wide Web will be structured in the future. Bookmarking sites have certainly brought a degree of order to the Internet, in the past this has always been a problem area for web users, as they generally have to visit many sites to gather information on a single subject.

The main downside to social bookmarking is in the fact webmasters quickly realised these sites are a great medium for search engine optimisation, this has led to bookmarking sites being hit hard by spammers. I believe this will be short lived as many sites are starting to incorporate the no-follow attribute.

My personal feelings are we have only seen the tip of the iceberg in regard to social bookmarking, in the future I believe these type of websites will be fully integrated into our online way of life.

Summary: Social bookmarking is fast becoming the next best thing for webmasters and web users around the globe. As we move towards full web 2.0 compliance, it is of no surprise that social bookmarking sites are giving us a glimpse of how the World Wide Web will be structured in the future.

Social bookmarking sites are still going strong; three years after Digg opened its doors to the Internet surfers, starved of human interaction. Be it a comment, friendly tip, or a suggestion as to how to get more from being online, they all contribute to enhancing users online experience. Doing a search will bring you many results listing the best known sites: YouTube, Slashdot, del.icio.us, ma.gnolia, etc. Great majority of them are not oriented towards any particular niche, and try to cover all areas of interest.

Each of these sites have its dedicated followers who submit their contributions, and vote and comment on others, daily. Most of these sites are very user friendly; understandable, considering the majority of users are not the computer geeks. Some, like Listible are really hard to understand, despite their apparent simplicity. The question arises, if despite the obvious benefits, like: using other peoples recommendations, accessibility of the centrally stored bookmarks from one place, the user becomes too reliant on what other people think, instead of developing his or her own value judgment.

Another major shortcoming of these sites is their limited ability to weed out the spammers, who submit their “news” linking to poorly designed websites, offering very limited content and value to the visitors. They do it entirely for the Search Engines Optimization purposes, to obtain one-way backlinks from bookmarking sites who typically have very high Page Rank, and are treated by the search engines as authority sites. All this helps spammers sites to rank higher. And as for the visitor who stumbled on them? Well, ignore and move on…

Sites that are widely accepted and enjoy thousands of visitors every day are becoming a hot property. Some of them change owners for millions of dollars. Why? Because with say, 150,000 subscribers you have an email list with that many names. This is a very effective marketing tool that can be used frequently to promote third party and affiliate offers. Together with another popular income stream: banners and advertising, they provide the social bookmarking websites owners with avenues of deriving some substantial income. No doubts, needed to run those very technologically demanding sites.

As new competing sites come online, those which are unable to maintain a healthy growth will disappear, counting only a few die-hards amongst their members. Others will flourish, only to be later sold for a hefty amount, to Google, Yahoo, or MSN. There is however an easily identifiable opportunity for niche oriented social bookmarking websites. People want to be presented with the content that is not only highly recommended by others “in the know”, but its conveniently located “under one roof”, thus minimizing the search time. Yes, niche oriented newcomers will become the new face of this increasingly popular Web 2.0 segment.

Take this Social Bookmarking Quiz and determine how much you know about the collective voice!

What Is Social Bookmarking?

Social bookmarking is a web 2.0 fad where users indicate that a specific web page, article, podcast, video, or other content is of particular value. The “bookmark” is seen as a vote for that item. The more users who bookmark an item, the more pronounced (popular) the item becomes within the social bookmarking network.

What Are The Major Social Networks?

Different social networks appeal to different demographics. For example, “Digg” is a relatively technical social network, so the focus of most resources found in Digg are technical in nature. “Delicious” contains a wider variety of materials, and is easier for the average user to manage. Here are a few of the most popular networks:

Digg - http://www.digg.com - technical users del.icio.us - http://del.icio.us StumbleUpon - http://www.stumbleupon.com Reddit - http://www.reddit.com Furl - http://www.furl.com

What Are Social Bookmarking Chicklets?

Social bookmarking “chicklets” are icons that webmasters place on their web pages, which identify the various social bookmarking networks. Typically when they are included on a web page, the visitor can click the icon and it will automatically bookmark that page within the social network that the chicklet represents.

Create chicklets - http://www.feedforall.com/social-bookmarks.htm

What Are The Benefits Of Social Bookmarking?

Social bookmarking is a grassroots process that allows users to establish the value of a specific web page, article, podcast, or video. By bookmarking an item, individuals are casting a vote to endorse that specific resource. The idea is that social bookmarking gives a resource credibility; the more users who bookmark a specific item, the more valuable the resource is considered to be. Social bookmarking is all about the collective voice. Most of the social bookmarking networks increase the profile of items that receive numerous bookmarks. It probably wont be long before the major search engines begin to include social bookmarks as a part of their ranking algorithms.

What Is Social Bookmark Tagging?

Tagging is used as a way to categorize related bookmarks. The tags are keywords that relate to the resource. In most cases, users can search on specific tags to locate similar bookmarked items.

How Is Social Bookmarking “User-Generated Content”?

Social bookmarking is all about people power. “Users” enter their favorites, and the social bookmarking networks manage all of the user information, provide aggregate data by keeping score, and manage social bookmark tags. Essentially, without “users” the social bookmarking websites would not have any content.

What Are Some Of The Popular Uses For Social Bookmarking?

Scholars and researchers often use social bookmarking to share research material and information. News headlines often find their way into social bookmarking networks, and users determine the popularity of a story with their voting power.

Is Social Bookmarking A Good Search Engine Optimization Technique?

While social bookmarking may generate some marginal attention for you, the content quality must be decent in order for others to endorse the site. The power of the collective voice and multiple bookmarks is what will really draw attention to your website. Social bookmarking will certainly not hurt your search engine optimization efforts, but social bookmarking alone will not result in a top search engine ranking.

Are Social Bookmarks Currently A Factor In Search Engine Ranking?

At this time it does not appear that any of the major search engines use social bookmarking as part of their ranking algorithms. That said, the incoming links for social bookmarking sites certainly do not hurt a websites search ranking. It is likely only a matter of time before the major search engines begin to use the collective voice as part of their ranking algorithms, as it is becoming too loud to ignore.

The ongoing rise of the Internet has transformed and taken social interaction to a whole new level. Before the internet socializing simply meant going through the standard social circles likes clubs, or thru methods like joining dating networks, or meeting people with the same interests in clubs or other social organizations.

Today the act of connecting with others who share your interests and passions can and is done easily online thru the World Wide Web. One proven and popular method for people to find useful links, groups and interest networks is thru social bookmarking. Social Bookmarking is a method used by many to store, classify, share and search Internet bookmarks.

Once a web user is on a social bookmarking network, the user can store lists of Internet resources which they find useful and personally relevant. The lists he complies can then be within reach by users or patrons of a specific network or website. Other web users with related interests and views can then see the links by category, topic, tags, or even randomly. Social bookmarks also offer specific services unique to a precise subject or format, like books, videos, fashion items, map locations, shoes, etc. can be easily found and located.

The idea of shared online bookmarks came to life as early as April 1996, where the launch of itList.com began. The growth of online bookmark services have since became more competitive, with bigger, venture capital backed companies like Backflip, Blink and many, many others. However, due to the lack of a viable model for generating profit, a lot of the early social bookmarking websites failed when the dot-com bubble burst.

Recently the popularity of social bookmarking began anew with the rise of a new crop of websites like del.icio.us, Simpy, and Furl, Netvouz, StumbleUpon, and on, and on, and on. Social bookmarking has become such a hot category that even IBM has entered the fray, and the BBC web site has also added social bookmarking links for its news and sport articles.

The seemingly immeasurable popularity of social bookmarking sites has led to an extension of the related services that are being offered. Social bookmark sites now offer more than just sharing bookmarks. Theyre offering things like ratings, the ability to import and export files and add notes, reviews, email links, automatic notification, make comments, get feed subscription, web annotation, create groups and social networks.

Just like anything that enjoys such a meteoric rise in popularity social bookmarking is also plagued by a percentage of those who abuse its capabilities. Some users have started using it as a vehicle to use along with search engine optimization as a way to enhance their websites visibility. The more a web page is presented and tagged, the bigger would its chances of being found, and spammers have started bookmarking multiple times the same web page and/or each page of their web site using a lot of popular tags, which has forced developers to constantly improve their security systems to effectively filter spam mail and other abuses.

The major distinctive feature of social bookmark applications, however, is the social nature of their use, and currently there is a bias toward greater transparency in these tools. This alone will help to prevent some of the abuse that is associated with social bookmarking.

If you are an online marketer then it is crucial that you promote your site very well. No internet marketing or online promotion tactic is entirely successful unless you can get a high ranking in the search engines, especially Google. One of the most successful ways to increase traffic to your site is to use into social bookmarking.

It is now a revealed wisdom that in order to get high rankings in search engines, a website must have lots of quality inbound links. And social bookmarking is one of the most effective ways to do just that. It is a web-based service that allows users to store or save lists of links to various web pages that they find useful. Other people with related interests can view the links by subject, category, tags, or even by chance.

These social bookmarking sites have the potential to direct hundreds or thousands of targeted visitors to your site within a very short time. It is also evident that higher and more successful Google Ranking might be done on the basis of those pages that users find interesting on social bookmark sites.

To promote your site and business to specific target audience, you must begin submitting articles to the social bookmark sites as soon as you can. Make sure it has good content also, so that others will want to link up with you, and you will be listed on many other pages as well.

Page rank is a statistical assessment used by Google that signifies how popular a site is on the web. Search engines presume that when one site links to a different site, it is casting a vote for the site. More votes imply more popularity of the site. Also, the ranking of the site that is casting the vote determines how important the vote itself is. Google calculates a sites importance from the number of votes cast for it.

The basic idea behind social bookmarking is that when thousands of people get together, bookmark their preferred sites, and utilize descriptive tags for each page that they bookmark, some websites will rise to the top and be a lot more popular. Other users in the network then refer to those pages. Consequently the posting of the links multiply. This will boost the page ranking.

Successful social bookmarking is a definite way to get a high Google ranking. Consequently it is not adequate to just get the URL of your site on the pages of social bookmarking sites. You need to take care of proper content and avoid spamming. You have to focus on getting more traffic by following some essential tips.

-Quality content: Since users are the determiners in the case of link referrals it is extremely essential to have proper content. Interesting topics that can attract a lot of targeted users is what you should aim for. Make sure that your information resources have high visibility on your site.

-Search engine Optimization: You must follow the search engine optimization tips to make your article accessible to a user. Keyword optimization and target ranking are some of them.

-Social bookmarking buttons: You must make it easier for users to bookmark you. It means that you should create links that keep the number of clicks to a minimum while guiding the user to your page.

The success of the “social” web applications is undeniable. Social networking sites like Facebook, Bebo or YouTube have reached success and fame in the past & present. Now followed by social bookmarking websites as they are becoming more and more praised by internet users. Why create such a buzz around these websites? Let us give you a brief overview and the reasons why you should be in it to win it!

What is Social Bookmarking?

Social bookmarking is an online tool which allows people to organize, rate and share their favorite sites on the Internet. Categorize favorite sites using tags, which describe the content of the website. Other people who are interested in the same subject can browse through this selection, based on the recommendation and choose to bookmark the page themselves. The web application often allows users to store links (bookmarks- hence the name ), share and search a web page location (URL), web page address or a file name. All of these lists of online resources can be made accessible to the public. That is why it is called ” social ” bookmarking site. These bookmarks can be private or shared. To get your own social bookmarking storage - simply register to one of the website below.

List of Social Bookmarking websites

* Blue Dot * del.icio.us * Digg * Diigo * Furl * GiveALink.org * Ma.gnolia * My Web * Netscape * Netvouz (Allows both tags and folders for organizing bookmarks.) * Newsvine * Reddit * Shoutwire * Simpy * SiteBar (SiteBar bookmark server is open source software) * StumbleUpon * Thoof

A bit of Social Bookmarking History

The idea of sharing internet bookmarks was born in April 1996 with the launch of the first social bookmarking website itList.com. The market flourished in three years and websites like Backflip, Blink, Clip2, hotlinks and quiver enter in the competition. But this first generation of social bookmarking software didnt have a viable money making model behind it. Many failed especially with the dotcom bubble gone burst in 2001. In 2005 and 2006, a second generation of social bookmarking site like Del.ici.ous, Simpy and furl rushed into the social software market, followed by Diigo, Ma.gnolia, Netvouz and Stumbleupon. Latest members to the family are websites like Reddit, Digg, Newsvine, the Uncut Times and Netscape. Recently IBM have revealed plans to enter this market and even the traditional BBC has added social bookmarking links for its news and sports articles.

Social Bookmarking: a small web revolution!

This a new way to discover the web. It is a big innovation in the area of searching for information online. Compared to the traditional system using a search engine, social bookmarking sites have a great advantage: The categorization of the bookmarks is made by humans who understand the content of the pages they have listed (or so we hope), unlike to the search engines which are using algorithms to rate & store the content of web sites.

Social networking is the newest way for internet users to not only save sites or links that they find interesting and useful, but also a way for them to refer these sites or links to people who might find them interesting.

When you register with a social networking site you gain space on the web in which you can store or bookmark web addresses for quick access. Unlike bookmarks stored on a computer, a social networking site allows you to not only access your web pages from anywhere; it also allows you to share your links with anyone in the World Wide Web.

The bookmarks on your social networking site are stored and tagged by you using key words. Users who are also interested in the same topics can access your site and your bookmarks by running a search for those same key words.

In social networking, key words really are “key”. It is by searching for these words or “tags” that you can find web pages on topics that you are interested in. This is also how other people can find you and your web pages.

This is why social networking gets its name, because by searching for web sites through social networking users not only find web sites that cater to their interests but people as well. You can get to know other users by getting to know what they are interested in. The biggest advantage in the use of a social networking site is the human factor inherent to the operations of the site. Because it is humans who are scanning the WebPages and classifying them by the key words, you can be sure that they understand the content of the resources they are making available to searchers.

However, this human factor also has certain disadvantages. For one thing, there is no standard set of key words or a standard structure to tags. This means that one bookmarked page might have several tags or key word might lead to it. There is also the chance of miss tagging due to something as simple as a miss spelled word.

Since the tags and keywords are assigned by individuals, there is also the danger of a webpage having unclear tags as the person who tagged the page might have a different perspective on the topic as the searcher. You can miss out on a resource that could have helped you because of tags that are to “personal” or unorthodox.

Because social networking can be used as a tool to increase website traffic, some unscrupulous individuals may take advantage of the tag system to make their sites more visible. They can attach “popular” tags to their page and even bookmark their page multiple times using a lot of different tags that may have nothing to do with the actual content of their web page.

The first social networking sites cropped up in 1996 with the first site called itlist.com. During the dot-com bubble burst in 1999, most of the already developed social networking sites disappeared. Social networking was revived in 2004 with the founding of such sites as del.icious, Simpy and Furl. These three remain some of the most well known and largest social networking sites in the web with Yahoo and Google developing their own versions.

It is very important to tag the site, or mark it with keywords, so that the users can find it from the right category. With the help of these tags a totally new work at home business groups can arise, it is a sort of new angle into the business.

Additionally the links spread automatically meaning a lot of new backlinks. The members can follow the happenings in the community by subscribing the web feed using tags or the set of tags. The system works easily: when you see an interesting site, you can bookmark it to the bookmarking site by right clicking and insert the right keywords. By the keywords other members can find this new site and do the bookmarking also. The group benefit comes from the fact that by keywords also others can utilize your finding and to share it further. In this way the bookmarking becomes public, which will strengthen the groups of the same thinkers.

Now another powerful feature comes into picture: the will to get a social respect from others. Each work at home business group member sees the topic from his special angle, which makes the system more useful. This is the advantage by which the social bookmarking site beats the search engines.

By tagging the system creates new niches, especially because also emails and multimedia can be tagged. If a work at home business owner really wants to expand his presence in the Net, the social bookmarking is the system.

I want to share with you one working tactic: start by writing a new post to your blog and use keyword and optimize the post writing this keyword once in the bold, underlined and italic font type. Then you can write an article and use exactly the same keyword. Now put the address of the blog post into the about the author box, with a keyword in the hyperlink. Now you have an anchor text with your keyword and the search enines know that there is a certain link with a certain keyword. After that distribute the article by the submission service to the huge number of article directories.

After this take several social bookmarking sites and submit your blog post to there. Now your blogpost can climb high on the search engine result pages.Your work at home business can benefit the social bookmarking sites in many ways. They will bring targeted traffic, they build backlinks and they distribute your link automatically wide in the Net. That means the globalization for your own work at home business.

Your work at home business gets strong benefits from the social bookmarking. Actually these new groups of the same thinkers can mean a big jump upwards, because each of them form several new nich markets. Not to speak about the business motivation, which these groups have. Wow!

Sites such as Digg and StumbleUpon can drive delightful amounts of traffic. If you want to have high levels of traffic driven to your site, theyre one of the great ways to get it. But actually getting the traffic is difficult. So many people look for ways to cheat their way to traffic.

There are ways to do this. There are groups that will Digg, Stumble or bookmark on various other websites for you, just as you do so for other members. I wont name any here; if thats the solution for you, search them out on your own. Youll find them.

However, a lot of people really dont understand what they should be having other people submit for them. Theyll put in just any old blog post and hope for traffic. But what you really want to submit are things that will get people interested in what your site has to offer. Otherwise, all you are doing is burning up bandwidth.

If youre going to do something like this, start out by using the service youre targeting. What kinds of pages tend to do well? You dont want to be copying anyone, but you can be inspired by the general topics that tend to do well.

The thing about having a group submit your site is that unless the quality is there, it wont do you a bit of good. In fact, if you arent careful about it, you can get your account and your website banned. You can lose all your chances to make the most of social bookmarking simply by abusing it.

The key is to remember to be a genuine member, even if you have others help you get your sites up there. Share the pages you really like, not just the ones you have to share in order to get your sites submitted.

You will also want to remember that social bookmark traffic as a rule converts poorly. What you should be looking for is how to get people to subscribe to your newsletter or feed, or other ways to keep people coming back on their own, rather than just when they read about a hot topic they found through a social site.

Youll also want to remember the other benefit that you are working towards - getting other people to link to your site. While not every blogger bothers to give references when they post on a topic, the better ones will mention if something you said inspired their own comments on that same topic.

Yes, it can be considered cheating to find a group that will bookmark your site for you, but it can help to get a well-crafted page noticed when you dont have the traffic to drive it on your own. But its a risk, and there is still no substitute for page quality. It needs to be good enough to stand on its own when other people notice it.

Using Social Bookmarking sites are a really great way to promote your website or Blog. They are becoming one of the best marketing tools today, especially since they have very useful tools and features that users can utilize to improve their search engine optimization.

What is Social Bookmarking?

Social Bookmarking allows users to store, organize, share and search bookmarks of web pages. This enables Internet users to access and add their favorite bookmarks from any computer. Personalized, informal tags are used to organize bookmarks instead of the traditional browser-based system of folders. These sites measure the popularity of a given website as compared to all other sites that have been submitted to its system. So you can see what bookmarks are favorites to a lot of people. Learning new things is easy and effortless with social bookmarking sites. Everything on these sites is someone’s favorite — they’ve already done the work of finding it, so all you have to do is look! Some common bookmarking websites are Digg, del.icio.us, Furl, Technorati, Blinklist, Reddit, and Spurl.

Why would I want/need to be Socially Bookmarked?

There are lots of uses to social bookmarking- such as sharing your favorites with friends, family, coworkers, and anyone else. Groups can create a shared account to collect and organize bookmarks that are useful to the entire group. For example, if you’re planning a group vacation, you all can collect bookmarks and review what everyone else finds. Creating wish lists on social bookmarking sites is also a great idea to get the word out to people you know. Make a birthday list by shopping online, saving your “wishes” as a bookmark and tell your friends/family to check it out from their computers!! Whatever the use for sharing information, social bookmarking can save a lot of your time. And today, time is so precious!

Why is Social Bookmarking good for SEO?

Due to the immense popularity of social bookmarking websites, being on their front-page, you are increasing your traffic to your website. In the long run, the numerous inbound links to your site will increase and regard you as a link reference, thus you have increased your link popularity and efficiently increased your rank. Between your high traffic and increased link popularity, social bookmarking websites use this method as their media platform with a viral marketing campaign to their advantage by doubling it with link baits. You win in more than one way!

Overall, social bookmarking is a great way to increase traffic and potential customers to your website. Just keep in mind, in order to be successful in social bookmarking, you must provide content that has value and worth bookmarking!

In making the Internet an easier place for users to navigate, the concept of bookmarking has become quite the commonly used tool. Whether you surf the Net using Internet Explorer, Firefox, or other selections, storing your preferred website links for future use is easy to accomplish when using “bookmarks” and “favorites.” Today, this same concept is being used to drive traffic to websites through a technique called “social bookmarking.”

The availability of social bookmarking has increased over the years with sites, such as Digg, Reddit, and del.icio.us. With these services, bookmarks are stored online instead of on a computer, making accessibility possible from any computer that connects to the Internet. Instead of using cumbersome folders to store bookmarks, these sites rely upon “tags.”

With this shift in traditional bookmarking, a user may assign and place their bookmarks into many different categories. Another advantage in social bookmarking is the innovative methods in which organization is achieved. This includes the many ways people are allowed to view their tags. For instance, “tag clouds” help locate bookmarks by using weighted lists coupled with visual design. The most frequently used tags appear in a larger font or showcase specialized emphasis. Alphabetization is also added to tag clouds, making it easier to locate tags in alphabetical order and by popularity.

When it comes to using social bookmarking as a way to drive website traffic, the ability to share favorite sites with other people aids in the discovery of new sites. When people show tags linked to a particular website, interest is created as visitors with similar interests click. For example, if you utilize social bookmarking and store many site links associated with growing grapes, you can keep an eye out for all of the bookmarks that other people interested in grapes have also saved. In the end, the convenient system allows users to expand their knowledge by clicking on the links (or tags) that mean the most to them.

Website traffic increases for sites when they become part of a bookmarking system comprised of many different people, as services often cater to specific topics and formats, which include feeds, shopping items, videos, and books. The most successful sites have been able to reach a wider audience and increase their chances for enticing a consumer to make a purchase. The key to luring a great deal of visitors is by providing helpful and useful information that encourages others to bookmark. Website owners are also able to track their progress with the public, as they can find out who has bookmarked their site.

Increased website traffic not only helps business and personal websites, but also blogs. Some people set up their blog to link to their favorite tagged sites, permitting visitors to their blog to easily bookmark the site. The increased traffic may also gain a better Google Page Rank for some. Depending on the social bookmarking service you select, you may add your own bookmarks to your blog, which leads to updated tags and links that take place on a daily basis. Traffic increases and users stand to gain a better page rank through suitable backlinks.

The only setbacks social bookmarking poses for some is the lack of standard sets of keywords; lack of standard tag structure; and unclear tags. Sometimes, mistagging occurs because of spelling mistakes. Also, users vary with their use of plurals and capitalization. Unfortunately, some people also abuse the system, which can lead to spamming, but overall, social bookmarking is far more convenient and beneficial for driving traffic than not.
